Sigma Phi Delta and FIRST® are joining forces to ‘ignite young minds’ to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

This strategic alliance partnership will offer Sigma Phi Delta members the opportunity to engage in FIRST programs as Volunteers, Coaches and Mentors at the local level in support of Fraternity objectives and community outreach efforts.  Members can be a valuable resource, from both a collegiate and professional engineering perspective, to a new generation of engineers and provide strong role models for FIRST students to emulate.

What is FIRST?

FIRST® programs, for grades K-12, engage students in exciting, Mentor-based, research and robotics programs that help them become science and technology leaders, as well as well-rounded contributors to society.  FIRST® is More Than Robots. Participation in FIRST programs is proven to encourage STEM education and careers, inspire tomorrow’s innovators and enhance 21st century work-life skills. To learn more, visit
